Ambitious throughout what would become a career-high scoring night, Dallas’ gifted floor general races the floor in transition, hoping to turn the Memphis Grizzlies’ unprepared defense into a wide-open opportunity of some sort. Benefitting from a selfless, heads-up advance pass from his teammate, Williams cashes in, lining up the basketball’s seams before connecting on a corner 3-pointer to push the Mavericks’ lead to double-figures in the second quarter. The upset-minded Mavs eventually — and understandably — fell to a Grizzlies team eyeballing a deep postseason run this spring, by virtue of a late-game rally. Brilliant nonetheless, Williams sprinkled new highlights onto 2024-25’s reel, collecting 31 points (on just 15 shots), complementing the big-time scoring with five rebounds, six assists, one steal, and four trifectas. · State of Mint · State of Mint
