Teaira McCowan · Locked in a fourth-quarter tie with the mighty Las Vegas Aces, Teaira McCowan pulled out all the stops. The Dallas Wings center had teammate Crystal Dangerfield’s back after Dangerfield turned it over in the offensive end, with the ball landing in Kelsey Plum’s hands for a transition attack. Dangerfield stuck to Plum on defense long enough to allow a trailing McCowan to size up Plum’s drive before landing a clutch rejection that sailed out of bounds. The Wings held on down the stretch to deal the Aces just their second loss in 18 games in large part thanks to the contributions of McCowan, who posted 14 points, 12 rebounds and two assists in a thrilling 80-78 win over the defending champions on July 7, 2023. · State of Mint · State of Mint
