An ankle injury sustained in a game two days earlier sure didn’t prevent Giannis Antetokounmpo from flying. The Greek Freak’s pure athleticism and jumping ability left jaws on the floor in the Big Apple as Khris Middleton picked off a pass and motored the other way with Antetokounmpo in a 2-on-1 fast break. Tim Hardaway Jr. did his best while giving chase, but it didn’t matter as Middleton flicked up a lob pass that Antetokounmpo plucked from the air with one hand and hammered home while hurdling completely over the unwitting defender. It was a sign of things to come for the rapidly improving Antetokounmpo in his fifth NBA season, and he would go on to win the MVP in each of the next two years.
