With her Minnesota Lynx mired in a season-opening six-game losing streak, a persistent Tiffany Mitchell had seen enough. Following seven seasons with the Indiana Fever, Mitchell got to savor her first victory in Minnesota when she grabbed an inbounds pass on the right side in a tie game and drove to the basket, only to have her shot blocked by Washington Mystics guard Brittney Sykes. Uninterested in overtime, Mitchell grabbed her own miss in a crowded paint and converted a putback layup with three seconds to play.
