Rhyne Howard and the Atlanta Dream had never experienced an explosion of points quite like this. An All-Star in each of her two WNBA seasons, the offensively-gifted Howard unleashed a deluge on the Los Angeles Sparks from all over the court. She finished off alley-oops in the post, knocked defenders off their feet with crafty moves in the midrange, knocked down six 3-pointers in 12 tries and turned steals into fastbreak layups. Howard shot 14 of 20 for the game for a career-high 43 points, one shy of the franchise record for a single game, although the Dream did set a record with 112 points.
