Luka Dončić’s fifth season concluded with his fourth consecutive All-NBA First Team and All-Star selections, and it’s easy to understand why. Dončić finished second in the league in scoring — he averaged a career-best 32.4 points per game while shooting 49.6 percent from the field, also the best mark of his career. He logged 10 triple-doubles in 66 games, one of only three players during the 2022-23 season that posted at least 10. Dončić also became the second-fastest player to reach 50 career triple-doubles, with his 56 already placing him in the top-10 in NBA history at the age of 24. Dončić started the season exceptionally, becoming the second player ever — and first since 1962 — to score at least 30 points in the first eight games of the season. The Dallas Mavericks superstar became the fourth player to score 7,000 points in less than 270 games, as well as the second-fastest to reach 7,500 points, 2,000 rebounds and 2,000 assists. On December 27, he recorded career-highs with 60 points and 21 rebounds — the first 60-point game in franchise history and the first 60-20 triple-double in league history.
