Time might’ve been running out on the first half, as the Minnesota Timberwolves attempted to match the Houston Rockets point-for-point during a battle of Western Conference juggernauts. Fortunately for them, the same couldn’t be said of Terrence Shannon’s quite-literal rise on February 6, 2025. Relatively new to Minnesota’s actual-game rotation, and yet already in-sync with his All-Star teammate, Shannon promptly times a baseline cut as the Houston Rockets attempt to send a top-of-the-arc double team. Now mano-a-mano with Jalen Green — arguably the last player one hopes to test in a battle of vertical leaps — Shannon progresses without fear, torpedoing his way into a one-handed flush to bring Target Center to its collective feet. Shannon’s jam proved, perhaps, to be the jolt Minnesota needed, as they emerged from halftime’s tunnel with improved execution. Limited, yet noticeable in his contribution to the win, Shannon chipped in five points (on two-of-four shooting), one assist, and a 3-pointer in six-and-a-half minutes. · Feb 7, 2025
