Postseason goals notwithstanding, Alex Sarr’s presence ensured there would be no waving of the “flag,” regarding the creation of big-time highlights. 7-foot, and yet metaphorically growing with each successive regular-season month, Sarr — threatening 20-point outbursts nightly throughout March — strides the floor after a successful defensive contest, hoping to subtly attract the eye of his fellow rookie floor general. Ultimately finding that the two were on the same wavelength, Sarr steers Washington’s fastbreak ship flawlessly, turning his unimpeded rim-run into a one-handed poster over Johnny Juzang’s valiant, yet powerless resistance.
