Walter Clayton Jr. led Florida to a national championship, earned Final Four MOP honors, and arrived in Salt Lake City as the 18th overall pick with plenty to prove on opening night. He proved it fast. Coming off the bench with the Jazz as 9.5-point underdogs, Clayton knifes into the paint off a Nurkic screen and converts the floater and-one for his first NBA points, then threads a long outlet to Nurkic and gets it right back for a triple on the wing, before sizing up his defender at half court and delivering a no-look feed to Nurkic storming the rim. Clayton has since moved on to Memphis, but his first 18 minutes in the league will always belong to Utah — 10 points, six rebounds, five assists, two steals, and a 129-108 victory on opening night. · Oct 22, 2025
