Following a three-year playoff absence, the Minnesota Timberwolves made it back to the postseason for a second straight season for the first time since 2003-05 after posting a record of 42-40. Former number one overall pick Anthony Edwards enjoyed a transcendent third season, making his first All-Star appearance after averaging career-highs in every major statistical category, including 24.6 points per game. That number jumped to 31.6 points in five playoff games, and the Timberwolves awarded their franchise player a five-year contract extension after the season. Karl-Anthony Towns was limited to just 29 games but did average 20.8 points in those contests while setting career-best marks in assists per game and free throw percentage. Rudy Gobert averaged 13.4 points and 11.6 rebounds in his first season in Minnesota, while four other rotation regulars averaged double-digits in scoring. Despite posting back-to-back winning seasons for the first time in two decades, the Timberwolves ultimately were eliminated from the playoffs by the eventual-champion Denver Nuggets in five first round games. · Dec 15, 2025
