The Knicks got there on the strength of an offensive unit that was rated third in the NBA, led primarily by Julius Randle and Jalen Brunson. Randle was an All-Star for the second time in three years after averaging a career-best 25.1 points along with 10 rebounds in 77 games as the veteran forward earned a spot on the All-NBA Third Team. After spending his first four seasons with the Dallas Mavericks, Brunson fit like a glove in the Big Apple as he brought a winning style of basketball to a city that was starved for it, averaging a career-high 24.0 points and 6.2 assists per game with many clutch moments mixed in.
