‘Tis the season for high-flying throwdowns if your name is Domantas Sabonis. Before he blossomed into a three-time All-Star, All-NBA Third Team selection and the league leader in rebounds, Sabonis played his first professional season with the Oklahoma City Thunder. In a Christmas Day showdown against the Minnesota Timberwolves, the 11th overall pick in the 2016 draft flashed early glimpses of his game-changing skill set. After taking a bounce pass from Russell Westbrook atop the key and thinking about a 3-pointer, the versatile big man hit Karl-Anthony Towns with a pump fake and then embarked on a drive to the basket. Despite a congested paint, Sabonis left Towns in the dust and took flight, landing an authoritative one-handed slam on top of Gorgui Dieng.
